Television: one of the biggest inventions in history. It has influenced the entire world in more than one way. It is a form of entertainment, advertisement, and widespread broadcasts. On average, 250 BILLION hours are spent watching television anually by Americans, which translates to about 10420000000 days anually spent watching TV*. The first real television was made around the year 1923 by someone named Charles Jenkins. The original transmission was about half the size of a business card! Imagine that! Now, the displays can get up to 56", and there is Plasma TVs, LCD TVs and more.

* Let's say two people watched television at the same time for one hour. It would be an hour each, or two hours. Using this, it is easy to see how much hours are spent.
